Hope

Darkness cowers
against the walls
of my room
as a tiny sliver
of moon
slices through trees
in the stillness
then rides a breeze
through my open 
window
lighting upon
a corner of mirror - 
rays of purple
dancing around
the darkness
cowering against
my lonely
walls.
